Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir

Sterling Vineyards, one of Napa Valley’s premier winery destinations, offers an array of distinct and beautifully crafted wines from its home appellation. The Sterling Vineyards Napa Valley wines show the depth, strength and incredible quality representative of California’s most famous wine region. The grapes for Sterling Vineyards Napa Valley wines are grown in 14 diverse and premium vineyards throughout the valley—from the cool southern Carneros region to the warm and rugged northernmost reaches of the valley near Calistoga. These incredible vineyards give Winemaker Harry Hansen some of the best Napa Valley fruit to select from and craft these unique, intensely flavored and expressive wines.

The Pinot Noir grapes were picked at optimum ripeness when color, flavor and tannin were in sync. Once in the winery, the grapes were cold soaked for two days followed by gentle fermentation in stainless-steel tanks to preserve the delicate nature of the varietal. To give the wine added texture and complexity the Pinot Noir was aged for 10 months in a combination of French and American oak.

The Sterling Vintner’s Collection Pinot Noir offers notes of black cherry, raspberry, vanilla and tobacco spice on the nose. The concentrated palate is rich with good depth and complex flavors of dark berries, black tea, cocoa dust and warm vanilla. The tannins are silky and well-integrated and lead to a flavorful finish. The diverse nature of Pinot Noir makes it a perfect accompaniment to many foods including grilled meats, cheeses and even salmon.
