It is said that “ A ship carrying one of the largest quantities of black spiced rum ever to be bought over from the Caribbean islands, for unexpected reasons, never reached its destination. Stories were plentiful, and while an attack by the Kraken is suspected, no stories ever were confirmed. Barrels carrying this black spiced rum defined off the ship into the sea and the rum was renamed after the Kraken as attribute (some says as a sacrifice) to this beast’s unchallengeable power and might.
As they say “To not respect the power of the Kraken is to not respect the sea”.
The Kraken Rum is Gluten, Wheat, Nut, & Lactose free as well as vegan.
Natural yeast are used to ferment the water thinned molasses, which is converted directly to alcohol. The rum is distilled to 97.5% alcohol.
Kraken Rum is then aged in Oak barrels for between 21 and 24 months before being blended with a range of 13 secrete spices including cinnamon, ginger, and clove.
The Kraken Rum was first introduced in the USA in 2008, and is currently available in the following countries: Canada, UK, Mexico, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, South Africa, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand.
Distilled in Trinidad and Tobago.
