Johnnie Walker Red Label

Johnnie Walker Red Label

JOHNNIE WALKER Red Label is the world’s best-selling Scotch Whisky. It’s renowned for its bold, characterful taste – balanced to shine through even when mixed. It’s a flavour the Walker family has never compromised on.

The Walker family used their encyclopaedic knowledge of Scotland’s malts to create a blend with universal appeal. The result? Red Label became the world’s favourite whisky, a position it still holds today. Developed for an export market with a taste for long, refreshing drinks, it’s the label that built the Walker empire, and the brand that defined the whisky business.

The story of Red Label started with the pioneering vision of the Walker family. John Walker and his sons saw an opportunity to take their whisky far beyond the borders of Scotland. They strove to make Red Label the world’s favourite whisky and didn’t give up until they achieved that goal, becoming one of the world’s first truly global brands.

Alexander Walker created the distinctive square bottle in 1860, with a label angled at precisely 24°. In a world that predominately uses rounded bottles, it soon became the most recognised whisky globally – it’s an iconic design for an iconic whisky.

The intrepid merchants and engineers who set sail from Scotland over 100 years ago taking Red Label with them are responsible for its rapid growth in popularity worldwide. As the Walker family once said, “We sailed wherever ship could sail”, a pioneering spirit that continues today.

Red Label is enjoyed in a variety of ways worldwide – neat, on the rocks or combined with your favourite mixer.

By law, Scotch Whisky must be wholly matured in Scotland, in oak casks for a period of not less than three years and to which no substance other than water and spirit caramel has been added.
