Grimbergen Blonde

Grimbergen Blonde

Grimbergen is a craft abbey beer, brewed under the close watch of the monks of Grimbergen Abbey in the Belgian town of Grimbergen. The history of the Abbey dates back to the Middle Ages: founded in 1128, Grimbergen Abbey was destroyed in a terrible fire in 1142, then again in 1566 and 1798. Every time it was destroyed, the ambitiousmonks rebuilt it stone by stone.

The Abbey of Grimbergen rose from the ashes three times. This is why the monks of Grimbergen took the phoenix as their symbol, a sign of their abbey’s perpetual rebirth, and adopted a motto in its honour: “Ardet nec consumitur”, which means “Burned but not destroyed”. Their recipe for beer has also withstood the test of time. Authentic, unique, and complex with multiple aromas, the beer of the phoenix gives rise to unexpected flavours that reveal themselves with each sip.

Grimbergen Blonde: a smooth, blonde ale with ripe yellow fruit flavours, a spicy note of clove and a dense, cream-coloured foam. This beer is suitable for braised and roasted pork and chicken, oily fish such as salmon, salads with shrimp and seafood.
