Fernet Branca
The rich sensations of dozens of herbs and spices picked in four continents. The secrets of a recipe wisely cherished for five generations.
Rich notes of bitterness with a delicately spicy finish: each individual component contributes its distinct quality to the boldness and character of the whole. First developed in 1845, the exact recipe of this mysteriously potent, 80-proof concoction of various herbs is a tightly guarded secret. Among the known ingredients are: aloe, gentian root, myrrh, galangal, and saffron.
Fernet is usually served as a digestive after a meal but may also be served with coffee and espresso or mixed into coffee and espresso drinks. It may be served at room temperature or on the rocks (with ice).
