Château D’Esclans

Château D’Esclans wine estate is located in the cool hills of Le Motte, 25km northwest of Frejus, in the heart of the Var valley where most of Provence AOC rosé wines are produced.  In 2006, Sacha Lichine bought Château D’Esclans with the vision of building a global reputation and producing the greatest rosé wines in the world. Together with the successful oenologist Patrick Leon, they have now achieved their vision, as they simultaneously produce two of the most successful popular and cosmopolitan rosé wines of all time: Whispering Angel and Garrus. The main vineyard varieties of Château D ’Esclans is Grenache, followed by Rolle as well as Cinsault, Merlot, Mourvèdre.

The main grape varieties that are selected at of Château D ’Esclans are Grenache and Rolle, as well as Cinsault and Mourvèdre.

Whispering Angel is a world class rosé produced in Provence, which presents both ease and accessibility making for enjoyment and pleasure. The varieties Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Carignan, and Vermentino come together in an extremely elegant and aromatic blend. Salmon coloured, with aromas of redcurrant and raspberry. The palate has a creamy texture with great breadth and dense summer fruit aromas.

In December 2019, the French group of luxury goods, LVMH, bought the majority of Chateau D’Esclans shares in order to strengthen its rose wine portfolio and add it to its brand portfolio.
