Alira Feteasca Neagra 2011

Alira Feteasca Neagra 2011

The first Feteasca Neagra from Alira, grown in Dobrogea, between Aliman si Rasova, completes its range of premium products with a round, intense and generous wine, with flavors of red fruits, ripe apricots and sweet-scented plums. The dry taste is ample and persistent, with vibrant notes of sour cherries and coffee, ending with a spicy finish.

The grapes are hand-picked, then carefully selected on sorting tables. Cold maceration of whole berries is performed from 5 to 8 days at 16 degrees Celsius. Alcohol fermentation (100% with addition of selected yeast strains) is controlled at 26-28 degrees Celsius durin 8-10 days, followed by maceration from 5 to 8 days in thermo regulated tanks.

The wine is aged for about 10 months, 50% in one year old French oak barrels and 50% in two years old barrels.
