Alira Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Alira Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

ALIRA Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 is a young Romanian wine, typical and complex, with an intense color. The nose combines firm touches of spices and leather with sweeter notes of pears, wild raspberries and black currants.

At first the taste seems tender, but the fine-grained tannins provide a progressive evolution. It becomes more intense, with flavors of dates, ginger and plums. The alcohol is very well balanced. The finish is long and savory, driven by classic Cabernet tannins.

The grapes are hand-picked, then carefully selected on sorting tables. Cold maceration of whole berries is performed from 5 to 8 days at 16 degrees Celsius. Alcohol fermentation (100% with addition of selected yeast strains) is controlled at 26-28 degrees Celsius durin 8-10 days, followed by maceration from 5 to 8 days in thermo regulated tanks.

The wine is aged for about 10 months, 50% in one year old French oak barrels and 50% in two years old barrels.
