The Agros Natural Mineral water gets introduced in the local market. It’s mineral water source is from the homonymous village of Agros that is sequestered in the mountain range of Troodos. Agros village is renowned for the perennial springs and has reputation for having the best water in Cyprus. Soon Agros water becomes the market leader.

M. Chr. Platanis & Co. Ltd is renamed Photos Photiades Breweries Ltd.

Late 1969, Carlsberg Beer is launched into the Cypriot market and quickly gains market share to become the market leader.

At the presence of Carlsberg’s Group Vice President H. B. Krogh and thousands of people, the grand opening of Cyprus Carlsberg’s Brewery takes place in June 1969.

Photos Photiades is granted license to produce Carlsberg Beer in Cyprus. The Cyprus Carlsberg Brewery becomes the first worldwide brewery outside Denmark which produces Carlsberg Beer, and marks the way for other countries to follow.

Fontana Amorosa Coast Ltd is formed and buys the “Ayios Nikolaos” agricultural plot – a unique seaside plot of size 1.3 million square meters in the north west coast of Cyprus.

Photos Photiades buys the controlling shareholding in M. Chr. Platanis & Co. Ltd, the producer of LEON Beer.
